I started a diaryland diary around the year 2000 or so, maybe 2001, because one of my favorite college friends started one and I wanted to be like her. I started making friends over there--several of whom I still talk to--but eventually we all migrated to livejournal. I was hesitant to make the move, but was convinced by a girl I had a crush on while in grad school. She was a poet who wrote cryptic entries. I used my journal like a feelings wall, a private journal, and a gossip factory, depending upon how I was feeling at the time.

I didn't think it would stick. But it did.

It's 2017 and I still have friends there. And when the Russians bought livejournal however many years ago and people said "fuck this, I'm moving to dreamwidth," my thought was: I'll wait. So, I waited. Now's the time.

If you're here with me, it's probably because you were there with me.

I basically really love blogging. Like, a lot.

In addition to this blog, I also have a tumblr. You don't want to read it. Unless you want to hear about my feelings on Martin Freeman (filthy) and femslash (lesbian fanfiction) and other fan and social justice things.

I even still keep a diaryland diary. You don't want to read it. It's a lot of feelings written in prose poetry. But I've been keeping it since I was 22 and I am 37 now, so I won't give it up.

What else? I work with cheese, at the best place in the world, with the best people in the world. I live in the Bay Area, but I'm from the South.

I'm queer as shit, currently struggling with mental illness, and am not afraid to spill my guts out on the internet.
