I am starting a cheese diary! Dairy Diary.

The first day of cheese went well, though I didn't buy anything at the end of the day. I feel sort of overwhelmed by choices. It's so much easier to suggest cheeses (or anything) to someone else.

Anyway. I am totally reading a cheese book. That should be good.

I think the Cheese Primer is still the best cheese primer. Though for your purposes it isn't that great since there's no American stuff to speak of. a lot has happened in the last decade since that came out.

The Jeffrey Roberts book is pretty good.

I like Laura, but after 6 months you'll know more than her. She's never worked with cheese.

excellent! i will put those on my to-read list. i have already noticed that the werlin book feels a lot like taking bougie foodie-ness to the readership, and that my co-workers know a hell of a lot, and i can listen to them to start really developing a better vocabulary and sense of cheeses.

mostly i am just super excited to learn anything and everything i can.

so. thanks for book suggestions!

I am filled with a mixture of envy, vicarious pleasure, and pure joy that you are at this totally awesome new job. I'd buy a hunka cheese from you anyday.
